Some call him by his real name, Rigwarl, but the Dota 2 players know him as Bristleback, the melee strength hero known for his effective but cheap spells with a short regeneration period. He can slow enemies with Viscous Nasal Goo, he can use the barrage Quill Sprays, and he is really effective when ganking. Even if he is considered a strength hero, he has less hitpoints than other characters from this category. This disadvantage can be neglected considering the Bristleback spell which reduces damage taken by the hero. In the early stage of the game, he is a ganker, but for the later stages, he becomes an useful and powerful carrier.
Rigwarl never turned down a fight, especially when the prey was substantial. He was named Bristleback by the drunken crowds, when he used to visit everyu tavern between Slom and Elze, until he was hired by a barkeeper. Brsitleback sold his services cheap, for beer, being really effective in collecting tabs, but also in keeping the peace in the bar, sometimes by using force. One night, he fought almost 12 men for an unpaid tab, and it happened: Bristleback was not able to do his duty, and the debt remained unpaid. He paid it from his own money, swearing to find the cheaters and to punish them. He trained himself in the secrets of fighting, and eventually learned an important lesson: sometimes, turning your back to a fight when you don’t have the slightest chance to win is the best thing to do.
