A lifetime of wars, riots and revolutions left Aurel disappointed, convinced that he had seen enough and that the world does not stand a chance. His engineering skills allowed him a comfortable life and a substantial pension, but also with the schemes of a Gyrocopter, the first non-magical manned flying device ever invented. In order to put the idea into practice, Aurel had to leave for the Ah Archipelago, a place where we can build the device without being worried that others would steal his plans.
After years of attempts and failed prototypes, he begins to wonder if the device can really be built. Ten years after renouncing the plans, Aurel decides to try to create his dream machine for one more time. He pulled the ignition cord waiting for the anticipated explosion, but surprisingly, the device started and lifted from the ground. One hour later, Aurel was completely confident in driving the gyrocopter, but the weird apparition scared the crew of a ship passing by. One cannonball was enough to destroy the machinery. Aurel got back to his drawing board being sure that he can build another flying machine, this time a prototype that was supposed to carry dangerous payload and to become one of the most feared fighting machineries ever seen.
